You probably know Adele by one of her many, if not all of her, number one hits from her critically acclaimed second album, 21, such as Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, and Set Fire to the Rain. While I too enjoy the aforementioned songs, my favorite Adele song happens to be from her lesser known by equally well crafted debut album, 19, by the title, Make You Feel My Love. The above highlighted titles link to YouTube videos of the songs.
Make You Feel My Love was written by Bob Dylan for Billy Joel's 1997 compilation album, Greatest Hits Volume III. Following Billy Joel's release of the record, Bob Dylan released his version of the song two months later. Bob Dylan's edition of the song was included in his 1997 album, Time Out of Mind [1]. Adele's emotional vocal complimented Bob Dylan's poetic lyric seamlessly. This is a truly magnificent record that encompasses all of the elements of great music: soothing-to-the-ear instrumental, meaningful lyric, and pitch-perfect vocal. This is one of the songs that I frequently play on repeat. The featured photograph was inspired by the music video. The video begins with an aerial shot of a night city scene, where the camera then zooms to a lighted apartment unit in a large building, where Adele was observed sitting on a bed alone. The single illuminated room contrasts the size of the rest of the building, in addition to the earlier bird's eye view shot of the city, promotes the theme of loneliness that was carried throughout the rest of the video. Here is Make You Feel My Love's music video that I found on YouTube. Have a listen and let me know what you think in the comments below!
