 "Leave Your Lover, Leave Him for Me." You might know Sam Smith from his hits, Stay with Me, I'm Not the Only One, and Lay Me Down, from his acclaimed debut album, In the Lonely Hours. However, my favorite Sam Smith song happens to not be the three chart toppers listed prior, but a lesser known track that was also recorded in his debut album by the title, Leave Your Lover. (I'm Not the Only One is my second favorite song from the album.)
 "When the Rain is Blowing in Your Face, and the Whole World is on Your Case, I Could Offer You a Warm Embrace, to Make You Feel My Love." You probably know Adele by one of her many, if not all of her, number one hits from her critically acclaimed second album, 21, such as Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, and Set Fire to the Rain. While I too enjoy the aforementioned songs, my favorite Adele song happens to be from her lesser known by equally well crafted debut album, 19, by the title, Make You Feel My Love.
 "When a Love Flame Dies, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." In both incidents, the writer of the song explains to his audience that it was because smoke had got into his eyes and not because he had respectively fall in and out of the love that had made him emotional.
 "Rain and Tears, All the Same, But in the Sun, You've Got to Play the Game." Every Monday, I am hoping to bring to you guys some lesser known songs that I enjoy listening to. We will start this new segment on the blog with Rain and Tears by Aphrodite's Child.

I had too much to drink. Everyone had too much to drink. I was wrapping my arms around anyone and everyone I could put my arms around and screaming nonsense at anyone and everyone whose face came close to mine. One point during the night, I was group-hugging one of my co-workers, who is Thai, and her fiancé. The couple was due to marry in Thailand in the coming months. I do not recall how the conversation came about. In short, my co-worker invited I and a few other of her co-workers to her then upcoming wedding in Bangkok, Thailand. |
