I was coming home from work. An old, Chinese man approached me on the subway and asked what the announcer had just broadcasted over the speaker. I had my headphones on, thus did not hear the announcement. The old man, who did not speak English, was on this way home to Brooklyn, when the D train detoured from its regular path, traveling on the F line. Minutes later, at the Broadway-Lafayette Street station, the lady over the speaker announced again that 2nd Avenue, the subsequent station, was going to be the last stop. I let the old man know. We stepped off of the train together. We briefly chatted while waited a D train. When the D train arrived, we got on the train together. We chatted some more on the train, before I stepped off at the next stop.

80. opened the door for a handicapped man (17/1,000,000)
Walking by the downstair deli, I saw a man in a wheelchair struggling to open the shop's front door. I looked back to see that the front door of the deli had remained open. I walked back to the front entrance of the store a second time to close the door.

80. instructed a man on how to use the elevator (12/1,000,000)
I stepped into the elevator. A man unsurely followed me into the elevator.
Recognizing his unconfident expression, I pointed to a screen across from the elevator.
"You select the button of the floor you would like to go to. It will tell you which elevator to take." I explained to the man.
The man hurriedly exited the elevator, and selected "24" from the screen.
"Elevator 6. This is elevator 6. You are trying to get rid of me." He joked as he stepped back into the elevator.

"One on the top. Zero on the side." I told the barber.
The barber was done with his job in less than five minutes. I left the barber an usual 50% tip before headed out the door.

A couple walked into the GNC store while I was checking out. They were asking for direction to the nearest A train station. I offered to look up the direction for them on my iPhone. With the digital map in front of us, I showed them where we were on the map, and where the closest A train station was. I directed them to walk down Canal Street westward for two blocks, before making a left turn.
15 DAY 326
80. gave the barber a 50% tip. (6/1,000,000)
I received a new haircut this evening, a much needed haircut. I had read somewhere that hair should be cut at maximum every four to six weeks. After four to six weeks without a proper trim, hair loses support and becomes hard to manage. It had been five weeks since my last cut.
Comparatively, haircuts are not expensive from one of the barber shops in Chinatown. I typically tip well regardless for I had worked at service jobs. However, since the price was already on the cheaper end, I tipped a few extra dollars on top of the regular amount.

★ 1 / 9 / 12 / 57.44 / 80. VOLUNTEERED AT TREVOR NEXT GEN'S FALL FETE FUNDRAISING EVENT (4/1,000,000)
The complimentary Domino's Pizza's pizza was the best part of the event.
I was assigned to check in guests. Along with two other volunteers, we were stationed by the entrance to the club, away from the festivity. They had blocked the view of the party from the checking in area with a curtain and a fan divider. The job was okay at first. I was actually getting a childish sense of accomplishment that I was getting really good at checking in guests. I had originally planned to stay longer, hoping to at least catch a glance of the celebration before heading out. However, after a small hiccup that left me feeling scolded and unappreciated, I left at my earliest opportunity.
Looking back, I had always felt out of place among the in the organization. A great relief dawned on me as I walked away from the establishment.

15 DAY 310
80. Tipped when it is not necessary (1/1,000,000)
I was craving a bowl of hand pulled noodle. Giving my body what my body wants, I visited a hand pulled noodle place nearby my residence. Tip was not necessary at that hand pulled noodle restaurant, but I tipped anyway, and I usually do, as long that I had change and that I had not spend too much money recently.
So, my old iPhone is completely broken, and I have no way of retrieving any of the saved data from the iPhone. With that, I lost my list of good deeds that I had completed thus far that I had been tracking on my phone, and the count that went with the list. I eventually decided to start over the count, for ultimately, doing good deeds is not about achieving a certain number, but that it is the righteous thing to do.

80. A DOLLAR MORE (2/1,000,000)
Just by giving a few dollars more on top of your 20% tip, you can see a change in a bartender or a server's attitude towards you. It does not take much to be a small highlight of someone's night.
On the other hand, I tried to make out if the bartender was the same bartender from a long time ago, who wore a baseball cap, and danced to Madonna, but I was not sure.

15 DAY 285
(80. Let two people go in front me while waiting in line for a drier at the laundromat (3/1,000,000)
All driers were in use when I timely arrived at the laundromat at the completion of the washing cycle. I sat down on a lone chair situated at the corner of the room, reading Earnest Hemingway's timeless classic, The Old Man and the Sea, while waited for an available machine. Two men walked into the laundromat shorty after I had sat down. The owner, without my permission, gave the first two vacant driers to the two late customers. I stayed quiet, and felt uneasy that my lack of response to the situation was taken advantage of. However, I quickly calmed my rising anger. Think as you are doing a good deed, I appeased myself.
